Notebook and HP IPAQ 5515 Pocket PC wireless connection... Taking readings in the field...

Hello,

I would like to network a Dell Notebook and a HP IPAQ 5515. Can I do
this just by using wifi cards in the Notebook and HP IPAQ?

I have a desktop and notebook networked at home via a wireless router.
But I just want to take my notebook out to the field, leave it in my
truck and take my pocket pc and walk about 40 feet from the truck andn
take some readings and then wirelessly transmit them to my notebook in
the car.

Can I do this with just WIFI cards in both the notebook and pocket pc?
