Why does just one of the laptops connected to my network
keep losing its IP address and why can't the Repair
functionality work to fix it? Happens always when i
power off notebook.

Assign a static IP to the laptop. Open network
connections and change TCP/IP to use IP 192.168.2.254
(for instance), mask 255.255.255.0, DNS/gateway
192.168.2.1
