recently my dell laptop with intel proset wireless has been unable to open
web pages untill i turn 'radio' off then on again, even though i can still
receive emails via outlook, it says i am connected with a excellent signal. I
got an error report of 'intel framework mfc application' if this helps.

The wireless router is a draytek vigor 2600vg and works fine with other
laptops in my house.

My guess is the driver for the proset has been corrupted. My suggestion
would be to obtain the current driver from Dell, then uninstall the driver,
(in control panel add/remove software) then shut your computer off. Note
that because this is when your computer is updating the registry expect the
shut down to take longer than normal, wait for it to complete. When your
computer turns off, turn it back on and install the updated drivers you had
all ready obtain from Dell. Again restart your computer and see if it now
connects.

Hi
I would go first with David's suggestion as stated above.
If it does not solve the problem try this process,

hi thanks for both of your advice, i installed a new driver and it didnt seem
to make a differance, so, after much tinkering i checked my zonealarm
firewall settings (should have done this first really) it was on stealth mode
and as soon as i turned it down to the medium setting it was fine, thanks for
the advice, i will be doing some internet junk cleaning anyway. I ran the
winsockxpfix and when i re booted the system it said there was an error in
the registry, i only saw that msg once and it doesnt seem to affect anything
so shall i assume its ok?
