Not Enough Server Storage

Currently, I am using a Networking Kit. I was told that this issue wasn't a
problem with the Networking Kit Company, but with Windows XP.

My Laptop is wirelessly connected to the Desktop, which has the router. My
Dekstop is able to access "My Documents" on the Laptop just fine. My Laptop
can use the Desktop printer just fine, too. It just doesn't seem to be a
problem with File Sharing.
But! My Laptop is unable to access the Desktop "My Documents", let alone
the Network Drive (Z). An error appears saying I don't have access
permissions and that there isn't enough server storage.
Also, my Dekstop Network Drive on my Laptop was disconnected. Today, I
opened a random window, and hit disconnected and then tried to reconnect it
again. An error appeared saying there isn't enough server storage.

Please, someone help me. Everyday terms would be very much appreciated! I'm
not very competent in the computer field.
Thank you.

Information provided by MVP Hans-Georg Michna:

This error indicates that you are falling foul of the IRPStackSize bug.
The problem is on the machine you are attempting to connect to, not the
machine where you see the error message. On the computer you are
attempting to connect to, check the event viewer for an event ID 2011.

Usual fix : You need to fix a parameter called IRPStackSize

On the computer you are attempting to connect to, Set the IRPStackSize
back to the default (15 ). Perform the following steps:

1. Start regedit.
2. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\lanmanserver\parameters.
3. Double-click IRPStackSize (or if this registry setting doesn't
exist, create it with type DWORD and ensure the case is correct).
4. Change the base to decimal, set the value to 15, and click OK.
5. Reboot the computer.

Norton AV is usual suspect for breaking it. There's a KB article about
this, too:

Antivirus Software May Cause Event ID 2011 (Q177078)

Thank You, both of you, very much. I can access my desktop files now!

One more question though: On my desktop, I do have both NAV and AVG Free
Version running. Should I delete the NAV program? I just want to ensure that
this won't happen again in the future. And if it does, can I just use the
same steps provided?

-Thank You

I'm glad you got it sorted. As you suspect, you should not have two
antivirus programs running at the same time. This is a toss-up, though.
Lots of people aren't fond of NAV after NAV2003, myself included.
However, it does - IMO - a better job than AVG. If NAV works well on
your system, I think I'd uninstall AVG, or at least not have it run,
and see how things go with NAV.

Thank You!
I think I will unistall the NAV anyways. My laptop has been running so
smoothly just with the AVG. [Plus, its free!]
Thank You very much for helping me!
