What happens if you run command from Start -> Run

\\10.10.10.10\share and click OK

where 10.10.10.10 is IP of your server or client if you run the command from
server.

Also try to provide as much information as possible. E.g. What server do you
run (Windows 2000 or Windows 2003), what operating system your clients run
(Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP)... These are all
information that can help use help you...

What will you use as FTP service? IIS or some other service?

If you will you FTP, will all users access same folders or different

Crate user account either in domain (if IIS server is in domain) or local
user accounts. Then make sure that you give these users NTFS permissions on
file system to the folder where the files are. Remove the Anonymous Access
on FTP service...

Check this article for more information

HOW TO: Limit FTP Access in Windows 2000

Note that username and passwords are not protected when they are sent from
client to server. This can be specially dangerous if users will access your
FTP over internet.
