Northern Ireland to get 100% "Broadband Coverage"

BT has been chosen (out of 27 companies) as the preferred supplier to
provide 100% "broadband coverage", bu the Department of Enterprise, Trade
and Investment in Northern Ireland.

It has to provide 100% coverage by the end of 2005.

100% "broadband coverage" means that as well as enabling every exchange in
NI, it will have to find alternative solutions (wireless/mesh
radio/satellite) for the reminder as well.

A final decision is expected at the end of the month.
