As Marc said, this is the normal setup. In effect, the default gateway is
the VPN server. The "received" IP is the client end of the PPP/PPTP
connection, and the other end is at the server.
See KB 254231 for more details on this, and why in W2k you should use
the client end IP address to refer to the link.
