I've disabled the "broadcast SSID" on my WRT54G router but in my list
of available wireless networks I can see 2.........one is "<SSID not
broadcast> and the second is the same network but showing the SSID?

Did you change the name from the default "linksys" or "wireless" or
whatever? You might be seeing a neighbor's AP.

BTW: Hiding your AP by turning off SSID broadcast doesn't increase
security, and does increase interference by others who don't know you
are using the channel...

Yeah, both networks are definitely mine, the broadcast SSID is what I
renamed my SSID before deciding not to broadcast it.
