Noob: DHCP Question - Two interfaces; two scopes

Hello,

If a Windows (2003) DHCP Server has been configured with two scopes
(192.168.1.x and 192.168.11.x) and is set to listen on two interfaces (with
ip's in matching ranges) will it dole out ip's from the matching ranges by
interface?

For instance, say a DHCP request comes in on the interface in the
192.168.1.x subnet. Will the DHCP automatically give out an ip (with
options) from the 192.168.1.x scope only and never give out an ip (with
options) from the 192.168.11.x scope?

Is there any magic that needs to be done to make this work correctly, or can
I just configure the two scopes and bind DHCP to the two interfaces?

Thanks,
Jim

That is the way they are designed to work. It should be fine. It would even
work fine if it only had one NIC and you used a Router to forward the
request from other subnets because the router includes information in the
relayed packet so the DHCP server knows what subnet it is intended for.
