Noise of Wireless Adapter

Hi! I've recently pruchased a Microsoft Wireless Notebook
Adapter MN-520. But I am facing a serious problem with it:
the wireless adapter makes noise whenever I am browsing. A
beeping noise is made whenever the "Wireless" light beeps
in the adapter. Could you please give me an idea of how to
eliminate this sound while browsing?

Could it be the fault of the Sony Vaio Notebook on which I
am using this adapter? Can I download any patches to
rectify this?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

Do you happen to have a built-in microphone and have it enabled? If so,
disabled it, unless you're constantly using it.

8-) Been there and done exactly that, except I noticed weird words being
entered into emails because my headset/microphone was sitting on the desk
and I bumped it with my mouse.
