You can. To make updates, download the update from MS web
site and run the update on the wired computer. To
reconfigure the router, use IE and go to
http://192.168.2.1 (can even do it with a wireless
computer, but may lose connection while changing wireless
settings).
The benefit of the MSBNU is that it can check for updates
and run the updater automatically (if this option is
checked on the tool). I actually do not use the BNU, but
keep checking the site once in a while.
Also, you do not need to keep a computer wired to the
router. It's only handy during upgrades or changing
settings, but you can plug it in at that time.
