I'm using PC VCR as supplied with Matrox Video Capture cards.

It will let me capture happily to the internal hard disc, but won't let me
save to a mapped network drive - tells me "invalid path".

Any ideas on how I can get around this?

TIA.

More detail needed:-
Can you save files on that drive from the Windows Explorer (any folder
view) ?

Is the "Save As" dialog in PC VCR an "old style" one ?

By "old style" I mean those with the filename at top left, drive
selector at bottom right, i.e. Windows3-style, as you still get in some
setups. even built into WinXP.

Are you sure you really want to do that? Does your network have enough
bandwidth available to handle video capture?

Yup, no problems.

Nope. I know what you mean, and it isn't. Which is what's odd. It will let
me browse the mapped drive using PCVCR, but won't let me save to it.

It does. See threads "UDMA Speeds" and "Update: UDMA Speeds" and "No Save to
Network Share" in uk.comp.homebuilt.

The simple version is I only need 2-3Mb /sec to make this work, my network
has about 4Mb available. (100Mbit).
