No permanent connection

I just installed a SMC wireless card in a Win98SE
computer. I can access the internet, but when I try to
browse the network neighborhood, I get an error that says
there is no permanent connection. Does anyone have any
ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

is there anything on the properties page of the network card?
