The most likely problem is that there's a firewall program blocking
access to one computer from the other.

Do you have a firewall program like ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet
Security, etc? If so, don't just disable it. Un-install it, then go
to Start | Run | Msconfig | Startup and disable any remnants of the
firewall. Your router will protect your computers from access by
other Internet users. Don't re-install the firewall until everything
is working.

It's possible that your router has a firewall function on its local
area network side. Check the router's documentation.

I am evidently the third person today with this problem.

I am working with two computers, both running Windows ME,
both connecting to a T1 through a Linksys Etherfast
Router (Model #BEFSR41).

I ran the network setup wizard on both machines. I even
used a Network Setup disk. The computers have different
names and the same workgroup. Nothing that's indicated as
a possible problem is present but I still can't share a
printer.
