The issue I am having is that when I connect to a Solaris box and do a
finger or a who, my computer is identified by IP address. I do the
same on by Fedora core box and it resolves it to my computer name. I
want computer name resolution because we are moving a few remaining
machines to DHCP and can not use rhosts and a static IP address. Yes,
I know rhosts is an old way of doing things, but I inherited the
situation...

DNS looks to be good becasue I can ping by name and it resolves to the
FQDN.

Has anyone seen this issue where finger and who do not resolve the
name to the IP address and where I might look to clean it up...

Still searching!

Thanks everyone...

Jason
