No More Connectiosn

I am using a CE 3.0 (Build 126) device that is accessing a
98SE machine via RF. After approx 800 read / writes the
Network requests are rejected. Netwatcher only shows the
CE device attached with 0 files open.

None of the shares on the 98 machine can be access by any
other PC with the message that 'No more connections can be
made to this remote computer at this time because there
are already as many connections as the computer can
accept'.

If I use netwatcher to disconnect the CE device it is OK
again and other machines can now browse the 98SE box again.

Upgrading to a different OS is not possible as there are a
large no of machines involved and the budget does not
stretch to it at this time.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.
