I got a Gateway laptop model number MX6453 last week with Windows XP Media
Center SP2. It has a Realtek RTL8187 wireless LAN installed. I had no trouble
setting up internet on this computer using a broadband connection. My network
showed up right away. But for some reason, after a few days, my network won't
show up and I get this message when I try and view it -- Windows cannot
configure wireless connection. It goes on to say use the software provided or
to set up Windows Zero configuration. I had accidentally turned the wireless
radio off, but turned it back on and that's when the trouble seemed to have
started. he wireless light is on. I can access the internet, but I can't view
my network. Also, the icon in the taskbar has a red x in it and when I hold
the cursor over it, it says "No RTL8187". I tried uninstalling Realtek from
the Add/Remove panel and then re-installing it, but it doesn't help the
situation any. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Terry
