Dear Sirs,
I have setup a VPN server using windows server 2003 at my school. I use it
so that wifi users can access the internet and the file and print servers on
the lan (and maybe a few lan parties, who knows ;-)). I ran through the setup
wizard and setup user accounts for each of the users.
It is working up to a point, as in the wifi users can access the internet,
and can type in \\server and view the windows server 2003 shares and
printers, but the other computers on the LAN can only be access by IP
address. Basically, it seems that the VPN users are not able to connect to
the DNS server on the LAN. I setup DHCP forwarding Routing and Remote Access,
but it is still not working. Last week I got it to work (don't ask me how) by
basically trying all kind of settings. A few days ago though I set the date
forward but forgot it was the trial version, so the trial period expired and
I had to reinstall. Once I reinstalled it then would not work. Any idea what
is wrong?
Here are the technical settings:
Wireless Adapter:
192.168.10.254
255.255.255.0
No gateway or DNS.
DHCP is configured to run the Wifi users between 192.168.10.50 to
192.168.10.250.
No Gateway, no DNS.
Local Area Network Connection:
LAN card is 192.168.100.253
Internet Router/DHCP Server/ DNS Server is 192.168.100.254
DHCP is 192.168.100.110 to 192.168.100.200
VPN Clients are 192.168.100.10 to 192.168.100.100
All machines on the LAN can access eachother and the server by Name.
All machines on the VPN can access eachother and the server by Name.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks,
Stephen.
