This is a good start, but if you want to get serious about blocking ads, I
suggest setting up a proxy server with a redirector. Then write your own
regular expressions to block out exactly the ads you want.

If you are really serious about blocking ads and monitoriing web access,
checkout squid + squidGuard + chastitiy lists + sarg.
They are fairly simple to do a basic setup and work great.
