Hello,

Does anyone know of documentation for setting up a linux (Mandrake 8)
box as a proxy server for usenet news? This would be to allow a mobile
system without news server access to use a linux system with access to
a news server as a proxy for that usenet news service (the news server
in question only allows a restricted range of IP's to use it). Google
news is nice, but slow to index new messages.

Sounds as if you could use 'leafnode', pretty easy to setup.
Comes with many distro.

Good luck

Any of the simple TCP/IP relay programs could be used.
you dont need to use a news caching program!

You dont need to run a usenet news cache program.
