NLB with two NICs in server (no not teaming)

Hello,

I am confused about setting up NLB on systems with multiple NIC's. Take
the following scenario: 2 identical servers each with dual NIC's; when
setting up NLB how many IP's do I need for this config? I thought just
two, Cluster IP and Dedicated IP on the primary NIC. However it seems
like I need three as the dedicated IP is on the same NIC as the Cluster
IP. Is this right? If so then what is the point of a second NIC card as
mentioned in the best practices?

Thank you.

Most probably you'll need another card for cluster intra-communication (a
separate card/network for that, so that it can not been influenced by the
public network). But I'm not an expert on cluster things, so I let others to
give you an exact answer.
