We have a number of 2003 servers setup with NLB sinlge affinity load
balancing an IIS website. I understand the priciples of this method but we
are seeing odd behaviour with one group of users. When a server is taken
offline, even if a group of users are 'persitent' to that server they should
still be passed to another server when they renew their session as far as I
am aware.
The users in question are different in that they don't come directly to our
website - they go to an 'intermediatry' site which then passes information
onto our site (in the form of xml). I am guessing that the issue is that the
intermediatry site is the cause and that it is somehow caching something
which means even if the client starts a new session they always end up on the
server that is offline. Any clues as to what we tell this intermediatry to
sort out (ARP Cache?) to stop this problem occuring?
Thanks,
