Hey all,

I've tried and tried to get nistnet working, but I'm pulling my
hair out now. The documentation (excuse my frustration) sucks. It's
confusing, and it assumes so many things.

Is there a step by step guide - and I mean EVERY step documented - for
installing nistnet, recompiling the kernel, etc?

I've spent 2 days trying to figure out how to recompile the RTC as a
module - there is NO documentation that tells me how. Everything I've
read just assumes I know how to do it. Well, I don't.

I'm begging for your help, please.

Thanks,

Al

The NIST Net homepage is http://w3.antd.nist.gov/tools/nistnet/

and http://w3.antd.nist.gov/tools/nistnet/install.html, Installing NIST
Net Getting and installing the package (Last updated 16 October, 2000)
is *quite outdated and, or un-maintained*, I think.

BTW, is it possible you tell us for what kernel version are you trying
to compile the NIST Net on your Fedora Core 4? Which have not even
bothered to tell in the text.

Thanks for answering Balwinder,

My FC4 kernel version that I am compiling is 2.6.12... is there any
other info you need?

Al

You're welcome!

No, per your current kernel version I don't think the NIST Net is
supported and, or will compile.

But, there no harm in trying Google, may be someone might have done it
for latest versions of Linux kernel also.
