Hi All ,
I want to query/update NIS map files.I have found some man pages which
has given the NIS client (yp_clnt) apis which does the above tasks
e.g.( yp_bind,up_update,yp_all etc ).
But I think this needs the ypbind installed on the machine.

My question is "Are there any yp_serve APIS (RPCs to query/update NIS
maps) , which can run on the NIS server itself without the need of
ypbind?"

Any pointers?

Thanks in advance.

Why not look at the source of ypbind itself, and figure out what it does?
