NIC on the one interface goes into a suspended state and the DB
servers lose connectivity with the domain.
In each case we have been unable to determine what on the server
caused the NIC to stop responding.

Please advice how to stop the nature of these servers we need to be
able to prevent this from happening, and also ensure the issue does
not spread.
