I am having a problem with the NIC's MAC changing to all Fs
(FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF) after a reboot. That prevents me from logging on to my
DSL conenction. If I delete the NIC from Device Manager, the driver reloads,
and the MAC is correct and I am able to conenct to my DSL conenction; however
the problem returns.

This happened after I upgraded the PC from Windows 98 to Windows XP Pro SP2,
a "dirty Install" without erasing the harddisk.

I have tried another NIC, same brand and model, no effect.
I tried moving it to a different pCI slot.
I upgraded the Firmware on the TYAN System board.
I have changed the PNP OS installed in the CMOS from Yes to No.
I checked Linksys for updated driver, none.
Full scan for trojans, virusus, adware and spyware, only some adware and
spyware found and removed.
I tried ipconfig /clear and ipconfig /flushdns, no effect.

PIII 512 MB
Win XP Pro SP2
MS AntiSpyware/ Symantec AV CE 10
Linksys LNE 100TX V4
Verizon DSL PPOE conenction, no router
TCP/IP set to Automatic

I would appreciate any help, Thankk You!
Pete

You should post to one of the regular networking newsgroups like
microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web or ask the support section for the
networking devices you're using. This newsgroup supports Microsoft's
Broadband Networking hardware and software only.
