I recently added my roomate's desktop to the network but
it does not maintain a constant connection to the
network, after 5 minutes or so it loses the ip address.

Any suggestions, please?

Dear Donmondo,

How did you "add it" to your network? Are you all using
WinXP? What base station are you using?

Under "Adapter settings" in the Broadband Network Utility
or WinXP's "Wireless Networks" there is a "Preferred
Network" list. Your network should be the ONLY one
listed. Remove all the others. Also, click "Advance",
then click "Advance" again. UNCHECK the box that allows
connection to available unpreferred networks.
