I'm running win 98SE, and I have just installed an intel Pro S 10/100 NIC, in
order to use a Netgear DG834 to connect to DSL. However, the NIC is showing
its IP as 0.0.0.0, and as such I can't connect to the Netgear (which should
be 192.168.0.1). The Netgear is in factory condition, so should be allocating
the NIC an IP through DHCP.

I'm wondering if the problem has to do with still having my Speedtouch 330
USB modem installed, but I'm a bit of a network newbie when it comes to
Win98, so any help would be appreciated.

TCP/IP is installed, the network settings for the card are all fine (get IP
automatically, etc), but even when I have manually allocated it an IP of
192.168.0.2 and set the gateway to be 192.168.0.1, it won't have it.
