Hi all,

don't know, whether this is the right group.

I got two linux terminal server boxes and one client. i'm just
planning a K12 room.

using the first server everything works fine and the client comes up.

when i switch it off and start the second server, the client hangs
during the root pivoting. the last lines which can be seen are:

Doing the pivot_root
nfs: server 192.168.0.7 not responding, still trying
nfs: task 82 can’t get a request slot

on the server i can see a DHCPOFFER, a DHCPACK and a
"authenticated mount request from notebook.athome.org:669 for
/opt/ltsp/i386"

when i start up the client with a knoppix cd, set up the
nic with dhcp (which works) and try an nfsmount by hand,
i get:

portmap: server localhost not responding, timed out
localhost - what does that mean???

five (5!) minutes later, the nfs volume is mounted.

mii-tool says
negotiated 100baseTx-FD, link ok
on both machines.

Any hints outside there?

looks like that something is wrong with your /etc/hosts.
