nfs gives permission denied

Hi,
I just have installed Red Hat EL WS 3 on my AMD Opteron 64 system. I'm
having IRIX 6.5 as my NIS server. I've successfully configured NIS &
NFS. I can mount any shared folder from network. Only thing is I can
not mount shared folder from my IRIX system. whenever I give command;
mount <system_name>:/<share_name> /<mount_folder>
it gives me error:
mount:<system_name & share_name> failed, reason given by server:
Permission denied

what could be the reason?

You don't have permission to mount the export.

What is contents of /etc/exports?

Did you run exportfs to tell nfsd about the new /etc/exports?
