Let me explain the problem I have got. Casualy put out the cable from my
ethernet adapter. By the way let me say that I have just two computers
connected to each other I suspect that I have established point-to-point
connection. After that I connected the cable again on my computer (in the
room) but my computer does not see the other computer (in my office)
although the other computer in my office sees my comuter in the room.

I can suspect that there is a problem in the TCP/IP settings. The
following properties look like that

Specify an IP Address:
IP Address: 111.111.111.111
Subnet Mask: 111.111.111.111

WINS Configuration
Disable WINS Resolution (is checked)

Gateway
not configured

DNS Configuration
Disable DNS (is checked)

Net BIOS
not configured
it is grayed

Advanced
Allow Binding To ATM: no
Set this protocol to be default protocol. (not checked)

Bindings
all are checked:
'Client for Microsoft Networks'
'File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks'

What is the problem? I tried to reinstall entire network (in my room) but
I get the same problem I described.

Thanks.

Under specify IP address, is it the same for both? If so it shouldn't be.

You should use IP addresses in the 192.168.x.x range e.g one computer should
have 192.168.0.1 and the other 192.168.0.2. Also subnet mask should be
255.255.255.0 - this should be the same for both.

After being targeted with gigabytes of trash by the "SWEN" worm, I have
concluded we must conceal our e-mail address. Our true address is the
mirror image of what you see before the "@" symbol. It's a shame such
steps are necessary. ...Charlie
