Hi all

I have a PC (Win XP Pro) connected to the Internet through a USB ADSL modem
on Pipex broadband. I have connected this to my laptop which runs Win XP
Home Edition with a crossover ethernet cable.

I have run the Nework Setup Wizard on both computers ending with message
that the connection has been setup successfully.

However, there is no connection at all as far as I can see!! It does not
show up in My Network Places on either computer.

Can anyone help please - obviously something has been missed?

Hi Plato,

Have you set up any folders for sharing? To do that, right click on a folder
you want to share, then hit "Propeeties" then the sharing tab.

HTH

Hi Martin

Yes I had done that. However, for some mysterious reason everything is
working OK where it wasn't before!!

When I say everything there is one odd matter: In My Network Places on my
PC (Host) I cannopt see any files at all on the laptop. But on my laptop's
My Network Places I can see all files on the PC.

It's not a big issue but it does puzzle me and must mean something is wrong.

Thanks for your help.
