OK, you should:
1. create a forwarding iptables firewall on your serverbox, to connect both
networks.
OR
2. re-design your addresses, for example:
make wlan0 10.0.0.5 and
make ur laptop 10.0.0.6
so that they are in the same 'subnet'.
