newbie with task scheduler question

I imagine this question has been asked before, but I'm new to this so have
patience.

I've created a couple of batch files to move SQL 2k backup and transaction
log files to a server in another location. I've tested the batch files and
they work fine. When I set up the task scheduler to run the batch files,
they ran fine until I logged off and came back the next day. While I was
logged onto the server and was wondering what had happened the task ran.
So, I'm wondering, what it is that I have done to create a task that will
only run while I am logged in. Could it be a object ownership problem? Could
it be a permissions problem? (It runs fine while I am logged on). I'm
stumped.

Thanks in advance,
MK

Open up the GP Editor for the local machine. Go to Computer Configuration >
Local Security Settings > User Rights Assignment > Add a user name under
"Log on as a batch job" (Make sure the user have sufficient permission to
run the job). Then you do not have to log on when running scheduled task.

Hmmm. I'm looking at it now and I see that my domain login is already listed
there (the same account that I am using for logging on in the scheduled
task) and yet it continues to run only when I am logged in. Any other ideas?
Does the Login have to have administrative rights through the Domain? (I am
an administrator on many local computers, but I'm not a network admin).
Thanks for your help.

Nevermind. It turns out that the problem had to do with my having mapped a
drive to the other server where the files were being copied to in the batch
file. I assumed that, since it was logging me on, the mapped drive would
exist for the batch file while I wasn't logged on, no such luck. I added a
Net Use statement to the batch file mapping the drive and it is now working.
