I`m new to a Wireless Home Network 802.11a, but, just bought an Intel 5000
Pro Wireless Access point (2nd user).

Can`t get into Express Setup page (using my browser & the default IP
address/password 192.0.2.1. subnet 255.255.0.0 Intel)

Obviously, the previous owner haschanged these - can I simply press the
Reset button on the unit to bring things back to factory condition ?

I`ve got the unit attached by RJ45 Ethernet ? cable to my main computer and
plan to use a wireless PCI card and CardBus card in my other home computer &
laptop respectively.

Sound okay ?

Just hold that reset button in (for 5 to 10 seconds) and
then
release it, and it should reset to 'factory defaults'.

Nice oneDavid - I was just pressing it !!!!!!!! duh...........

I have never owned that vendor's product. But, in general, most all WAPs
work that way. Just hold that reset button in (for 5 to 10 seconds) and
then
release it, and it should reset to 'factory defaults'.

(Pressing it just very briefly is usually just a 'reboot', so make sure you
hold it
in LONGER if you are ALSO trying to go back to factory defaults.)

Hope this helps...

Dave

Following previous advise, downloaded manual & learnt how to re-boot & reset
the Access Point to factory defaults.

STILL can`t confirgure the access point via my browser using default
password & user name.

Am I doing anything wrong ?
