Get a router and end it, and they have ones for dial-up. I think SMC makes
one.

Hope you guys can help me, I`m quite an experienced Windows computer user
but VERY inexperienced re Wireless Networks !

I have an Intel 5000 802.11a (54 Mbps) PCI card in my main computer
connected to the internet via a standard dial-up connection running Windows
XP Pro

I have an Intel 5000 Cardbus card in my laptop running Windows ME

I have setup an ad-hoc `Peer to peer` network connecting the two computers.
This works as I get a transfer rate of around 26Mbps and I can transfer
information/files to my laptop from my main computer.

The thing I can`t seem to do (I don`t know how !) connect to the internet
remotely on my laptop (client) using the modem connected to main main
machine. I don`t think I need a Router(whatever one of those is) as there
will only ever be the two machines connected together.

Can anyone help ?

"enable the sharing of Internet connection on your XP machine, for
your ME machine to be able to got thru the other machine."

This sounds like my solution - anyone how is it done ??
