Newbie Q: Wireless speeds vs ADSL/BB speed

I'm looking into setting up a little wireless network so we can share ADSL
between an XP Home and a W98 PC.

I know I can buy 802.11b and 11g devices but can someone confirm that ADSL
will still be slower than either?

By my reckoning
ADSL is .5mb(down)/.25mb(up) vs
802.11b 11mb or
802.11g 54mb

In which case even on a 11b network ADSL will be 5 times *slower* than PC to
PC networking and even max available current ADSL is only 2mb downstream.

Am I right or am I getting my megabits mixed up?

Assuming that your wireless network is set up correctly, and that
there is no interference from outside radio sources, then, yes, you
are correct - the ADSL will be slower (by a goodly factor) than the
wireless network.
