I'm a networking person that is in the early stages of learning linux.
I downloaded and installed nmap onto a Redhat 9.0 box that I have.
The files I used are:

nmap-3.48-1.i386.rpm
nmap-frontend-3.48-1.i386.rpm

My question is: What does the nmap-frontend-3.48-1.i386.rpm represent?
Is there a gui front end? Is there a client front end that can
connect from another machine? I'm thinking in networking terms. Is
there a different kind of front end in the Unix/Linux world? Is this
term just partial to this program?

TIA,
Paul

Try running rpm -q -l nmap-frontend-3.48-1 - this will list the whole
content of the package For more info, consult man rpm
