Newbie - how long to establish connection

Say the connection is lost, but adsl light still on, how long could
one expect to wait for connection to be up again, it is tiscali by the
way...

How long is a piece of string? Once you've worked out the answer to
that, double it then that will be how long the Tiscali service will be
down for!

see my other reply - it could be a USB problem which is most commonly
"fixed" by having to reboot...

Yes but.... tiscali aside, if you unplug your adsl connection and then
remake it, would you normally expect the connection to fire up
straight away?

And how can I get OE to bottom post automatically??

minute, maybe 2 to synchronise. Might depend on line quality and
speed, do you have a 2M circuit delivering a restricted service or a
"normal" ADSL connection ?

As far as I know it's normal adsl. no limits. And Tiscali or not it is
working fine, I'm just too scared to turn it off again to relocate the
router...
