I am a little confused with all the different wireless products
available and what I really need! At present I have a D-Link DCS-1000
camera hooked up to a D-Link 810+ Bridge. I want to be able to access
this camera thru the internet. The camera and bridge need to
communicate to a computer on the intranet(which is hooked up to the
internet with a satelite connection).

Can I use an Access Point (Dwl 900AP) to get the computer and bridge
to talk to each other, or do I need a router, or would a second bridge
be needed?

Once the computer and camera are communicating I believe I can use ICS
or Sygate on the computer (XP Pro) to allow internet access to camera
(would need to set up camera as a virtual server). Unfortunaltely the
satelite link is through a USB modem so the computer will need to be
used as a gateway, unless there are routers that the satelite modem
can hook up to directly.

Am I on the right track here??

Thanks

That's a stand alone hub or switch and connect the AP into it along with
computer and camera too, if you so desired. I would go with the switch.

The bridge allows two networks to connect to each other so that the two
networks can communicate. It's not what you need for your purpo

I would not be using a MS O/S machine as a gateway device to the
Internet, unless it was a Baton Host machine -- (use Google). But it
takes someone who knows what thery are doing to set up a Baston Host.
It's too vulnerable to attack. Routers don not work work with satelite.
In your case, I would be looking into buying an old pc EBAY and
installing Linux and using it as the gateway device router with possible
FW. I would use Sygate on the XP machine to protect outbound and to back
up the Linux gateway.
