It is only recently that I put a USB Wifi adapter my notebook and a
WiFi route/access port on my desktop.
It all works great. I can use my notebook wirelessly all over the
house and have broadband access. I can wirelessly send files to the
printer that is sitting next to the desktop. I am very pleased with
this capability.
Now the problem. The city I live in just installed a Hot Spot in the
local downtown pedestrian mall. I went there today to try it out.
I connected to the access point with no problem. The signal strength
and line quantity registered as quite good. However, when I would try
to bring up a web site on my browser I could get nothing. The attempt
would just timeout no matter what site I tried to go to.
Without making any changes to my laptop I brought it home, turned it
on and everything worked as it should and I had access to broad band
via my access home installed access point.
What am doing wrong???? WHy can I gain access to the net even though
I am connecint to the access point???
