Hi !

I am running a linux file server. both macs and PC are accessing
through netatalk and samba. Till last week everything was fine.

Since the hard disk was full I had to move the data to another
harddisk. this worked too. All old users can access their shares as
before.

BUT all newly added users cannot access the file server from other
machines.

With netatalk I can atleast get access to the home directory, but
nothings else.

With samba there is no connection at all. Yes I have added the user
and the password. I also created a new user at the PC with the same
login name, the passwords are different. For the old users I
succesfully used smbusers to that other PC accounts can be used to
access the fileserver.

So I guess samba and netatlk are running fine and the problem must be
somewhere in the user rights administration.

I even swichtched from SUSE 8.0 to 9.1 (should include samba 3.0)
The Macs are running OS9.2 and the PCs Win2000.

Any suggestions.

Christian
