Hello all.

I have a desktop pc running win XP, and have purchased a new laptop again
with win XP.

have purchased some hardware which consists of
1). Linksys wireless USB network adapter (WUSB11 ver. 2.6)
2). Linksys Network pc card (WPC11 ver. 3.0)

I understand this is all I require to have a connection from my desktop pc
to my laptop, under the advisement of the staff at pc world.

The thing is I have connect the two devices and installed the drivers no
probs there, but I just cant get anything on my laptop, i.e. I wanna manly
surf the web on my laptop, but I just cant figure it out, I must me missing
something, I have used win xp network connection wizard, but when I click
on internet explorer, the desktop dials out on my adsl connection but does
not send anything back to laptop. I think there are some settings need
looking at, but just cant figure it out.

please help, is there any websites out there that would help me, in plain
English.

many thanks in advance.

cheers.

johal, you may need "internet connection sharing" activated on the desktop
XP so that it shares the wired dsl connection with the wireless XP. you may
also need the wireless cards (all of them) configured as "ad-hoc" mode
because you evidently have no wireless router. if you make these software
changes you should be fine. look up the quoted terms in your help files.
