I've setup a Windows 2003 server and find I can't see other machines on the
LAN.

I believe I went through the process of applying the Updates while in that
start-up protected mode and opened up the machine correctly. However, all I
can see (and ping) is myself and the router and everything on the internet.
I can't see anything else on the LAN.

The addressing on the NIC card looks normal. I even took the step of
configuring a XP machine with the same addressing and it works fine.

I assume I need to re-run the wizard that takes it out of that start-up
protected mode but I can't locate it. Is the wizard available to run? Is
there a firewall setting? or a group setting that would account for such a
behavoir?

Posting the results of this computer and other computer ipconfig /all here may help.

If I'm on the wrong track say so.

I do know how to configure a NIC card, this is not that.

This is something unique to the firewall or the server. I assume most
people don't end up here so re-running the final wizard(s) will probably do
the trick
