I've decided to give up on 802.11g and start over with 802.11b.

I'm going to return the 'g' router and card and pick up a Linksys WAP11 and
WMP11.

I already have a Linksys BEFSR41 router that I never used but just set up
successfully with my cable modem.

I'll set up the WAP11 halfway across the house on the ground floor and see
if that will 'reach' the second floor room at the other end of the house.

I had thought of going with the WAP54G but searching for it in this
newsgroup and seeing the negative reviews and problems and the praise for
the WAP11 I'm going to try my luck with it. It can't be any worse what I've
already been through.

Thank you everyone for all your responses.

Donna

I have been running a BEFW11S4 v1 router for over two years with no
issues and still going strong. You might want to look at one of those.
