new PDC and trust relationships

Hello to all,

I have two questions:

1. Currently we have one domain with multiple remote offices. We are
contemplating creating a separate domain for one of the offices. The office
currently has a server that is configured as a BDC for the one domain. Can I
change this server to be a BDC for a new domain without re-installing NT?
Yes, we use NT server.

2. If we create the new domain so that there is now two domains. There is a
person at the remote office with the new domain that has admin privileges to
the new domain. I create a trust between the two domains. Will this person
now have admin privileges with both domains?

The core of the problem is that there is a person at a remote office that
was hired as an admin for that office. This person needs to maintain
everything at the remote office including it's server, which is currently
set up as BDC for the corporate domain. Corporate does not want to give this
person admin privileges to the corporate domain. Domain admin privileges
allow maybe 90% of what this person requires, but the VP of the remote site
wants this person to be able to maintain 100% of the systems at the remote
site without requiring corporate assistance. This is the reason for the two
questions. If I create a separate domain for the remote site, will the
remote admin be able to have admin privileges at the remote site, but not at
the corporate domain? With the new remote domain, the remote office will
still have to get e-mail (exchange at corporate), internet, and JDEdwards
from corporate. I have argued to get admin privileges for the remote admin,
but it is not going to happen.

Confused yet? Thanks in advance for any help or advise.

Ed
