I just set up my 1st home network, which is quite simple. Two computers
hooked to Internet, that's it. I bought a Belkin Dual Band Wireless
router. It seems to have quite a few services running all the time in
the background. I wonder can anyone tell me if I can disable any of
these, or they all have to constantly run. (I don't do Backup or
Scheduling etc.). Thank you for any advice.

What are the services that are running, and where do you see them?
It's hard to answer your question without knowing what you're
referring to.

Thanks for reply. Process Explorer and Windows Task Manager show 6
different Belkin listings:
Belkin Setup.exe
Belkin Router Monitor.exe
BkBackup Scheduler.exe
Belkin Serivce.exe
Connect.exe and
BKapcs.exe
I'm using Windows XP SP3 on the main computer and Windows7 SP1 on the
networked box. Hope this helps. Thanks again.

It sounds like you installed and executed some Belkin setup software.
I would have recommended against that, so at this point my
recommendation is to uninstall all of it. Check the Belkin manual
first, in case anything seems like something you're interested in.
None of it looks mandatory, though.

Disclaimer: I'm not super familiar with Belkin products, but in
general I much prefer to manually set things up rather than run a
wizard and end up with all of that junk in the background.
