The first thing to do is to look at the network protocols and clients that
are loading when the system starts up. Any unneeded protocols or bindings
will slow down the startup process as the computer looks for networks that
don't exist.
Unless you are actually using the NetBEUI or IPX/SPX network protocols,
remove them from the Network properties icon in the Control Panel, then
restart and see if the startup seems any faster.
