Hello Friends,

I have just installed Redhat-8 on a new PC.

The system I have is Athelon system 3000+. The motherboard
specifications are ASUS A7N8X-DX /1394/SATA/2x NI.

during the installation I opted for automatic partition.
The installation didn't ask me for network configuration ( I don't
know why )

I want to configure the new pc for my current LAN, but after
installation the system is not detecting the eth0 ( so not connecting
to internet world). when I try to add it manually and activate it, it
says "can not activate eth0".

any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Falak

Because it didn't detect a supported NIC.

Upgrade your kernel at least. Why are you using RH8, anyway? Perhaps
just installing 9 will make this problem go away without further
troubleshooting.

That's really great. Toppost on a lengthy post.

Evade the signature killing features on everyone's newsreader by not
using a sig delimiter.

And having a hugely over-sized sig that amounts to nothing but spam.

Clean up your act!

Besides the subject at hand, on the Usenet we limit ourselves to the
four lines below the sig delimiter "-- "

Killfiled for 10 days.
