I am trying to install a MN-500 wireless base station by
hanging it off my existing wired Linksys DSL router. All
the instructions seem to imply that I should just use the
wireless one, but do I HAVE to do that?

Basically, the wizard tells me it can't find the base
station, and I am THINKING it is because the DSL router
is between it and the PC.

Any thoughts?

(Also, when I loaded the SW, I got an error message
saying that this version of MSBN had a known issue with
my version of windows (XP, SP2) - could that be it?

THanks for any help.

I would first download the latest version of the software, and then make
sure you're setting the MN-500 up in access mode. You need to separately
access the MN-500 with an Ethernet cable, not attached to the other router,
first. It cannot also act as a router/base station if you're connecting it
to another router, and you cannot administer the setup through another
router.

Check in Chapter 3 of the User's Guide (I believe) for the Access Point
instructions.
